The inspiration to start The Gutsy community was derived from the desire to find a support system, a mentor and someone who would nudge us in the right direction. Having the platform has opened the door to meeting more like-minded women who crave to ‘become’ & also create space for other women at the table.

Achievements

The Gutsy Experience

The Gutsy Woman Network continues to expand its reach and impact across Nigeria. Our flagship event, The Gutsy Experience, is currently held every July in Enugu under a powerful theme. For instance, the 2025 conference (Saturday, July 19, 2025) was themed “Your Era to Bloom” This transformative gathering featured inspiring keynotes and panel discussions, as well as the premiere of “Desert Flower”, a documentary celebrating women’s resilience. We keep registration free, so that any woman (or supportive man) can join this uplifting experience.

Each October (International Day of the Girl Child), we host STEM & Her, an inspiring mentorship and training program for young girls. These events bring together students and mentors for hands-on science, technology and leadership workshops that build confidence and curiosity. In 2024, for instance, girls from Enugu schools participated in STEM projects and motivational sessions, sparking new interest in science and leadership. In 2025, we had amazing sessions from speakers in different fields as well as a screening of one episode of the Desert Flower Documentary. STEM & Her reflects our commitment to nurturing the next generation of female innovators.

Gutsy Talks & Webinars

Throughout the year, we run online Gutsy Talk sessions on topics like career growth, health, and personal development. In early 2024, we held a live webinar covering women’s empowerment and career planning, which drew a broad online audience. These virtual meetups extend our impact beyond Enugu and keep our community engaged year-round. In 2025, we had a post-event conversation webinar, where most of the things which had been learnt at the Gutsy Experience 3.0 were broken down for easier implementation.

Beyond events, we foster a supportive network through ongoing mentorship circles and skills programs. We connect members in volunteer groups and partner with other organizations for workshops. In everything we do, we emphasize “connecting women through valuable content & fun”, sharing inspiration, laughter, and practical learning.
